Praying for the Yankees

(David Munyon / S.P. Standley)

This song is a fun song, as we are all New York Yankees' Fans, when I was a boy my Dad took me and my brother Chet Jr. to see The New York Yankees' play baseball, we saw Mickey Mantle, Roger Marris, and Yogi Berra and Whitney Ford pitched nine complete Innings and Joe Pepitone play on First Base, it was one of the best days of my life... Baseball should be played everywhere, in every country.

If I had a million dollars

Richard „Sticks“ Stickley

I'd probably just give it all away

And I guess I'd have to have a secretary

To respond to all the love it would create

I been praying for the Yankees

I been trying to figure out all these dreams

I am numb from these Georgia Water Skiers

Who seem to take away, take away everything

I love the non-essential players

Ah...The ones who hardley get a chance to play

I been praying for the Yankees

And it's a cloudy summer day

Sammy called me just this morning

Said the wife was sending fax's on the sly

Bless her heart... she's from Alabama

And she's pretty; ah she's pretty as the Alabama skies

I been praying for the Yankees

I been trying to figure out all these dreams

I am numb from these Georgia Water Skiers

Who seem to take away, take away everything

I love the non-essential players

Ah...The ones who hardley get a chance to play

I been praying for the Yankees

And it's a cloudy summer day

I was at the great Assembly

The saints were happy sailing in the halls

I humbly asked the pastor and god

What is the reason.. What is the reason for it all

And they said „We been praying for the Yankees“...
